Mazafati Dates

Mazafati, also known as Mozafati or Bam date, is a cultivated palm date characterized by its dark, soft, fleshy, and sweet nature. It has a medium size, approximately 2.5–4.5 cm (1–2 in), and a relatively high moisture content ranging between 16-35%, influenced by the time of harvest and cultivation location. The harvest season for Mazafati dates is from late September to mid-October each year, with the best quality produced in Bam city. Rotab Mazafati Bam is a notable date product from Iran, and it is not considered a dried fruit due to its high humidity. Mazafati dates are known for their juiciness.

The best dates are produced in Bam city. Rotab Mazafati Bam is one of the date products of Iran. This type of date is not considered as a dried fruit due to its high humidity .The moist skin of Bam Mazafati can be easily removed.
There are three forms in which Mazafati dates are offered:
Fresh Mazafati dates, also called Rotab Mazafati, with a moisture content of about 25 to 30%.
Semi-dry dates, containing approximately 20 to 25% moisture.
Dried Mazafati dates, with a maximum moisture level of 16%.
Researchers suggest that consuming wet dates with dairy products, such as milk, is beneficial for combating fatigue or after strenuous activities. Dates, including Mazafati, are rich in fiber, which is effective in reducing fat and providing protein. Recent scientific studies indicate that dates can contribute to stress relief and mental tranquility.
The shelf life of Mazafati dates is one year from the production date. To maintain their quality, users are advised to store Mazafati dates in a cool (below 5 degrees Celsius), dry environment with proper air ventilation, preferably in the refrigerator.
